World Mental Health Day
It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace.
The following mental health statistics show that this is a priority issue in the construction industry:
- 26% of construction professionals thought about taking their own lives in 2019.
- 49% of work-related ill-health related to stress, anxiety and depression (17.1 million working days lost).
- 56% of construction professionals work for organisations with no policies on mental health in the workplace.
- 73% of UK builders experience mental health problems, such as anxiety or depression, every month.
For those feeling alone or isolated, we would encourage you to speak up and have included details for The Lighthouse Charity and Mates in Mind, who provide invaluable services and resources.
